JNS: The 19th edition of the Asian Games 2023 commenced in grand style on Saturday in the vibrant city of Hangzhou, China. The inauguration ceremony, graced by Chinese President Xi Jinping and a host of distinguished guests, unfolded at the iconic Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, known as the Big Lotus, leaving spectators awestruck with its spectacular blend of tradition and technology.
Chinese President Xi Jinping officially inaugurated the Asian Games 2023, setting the stage for a two-week extravaganza that will witness over 12,000 athletes from 45 nations and territories competing across 61 disciplines.

India, a stalwart in the Asian Games, made its presence felt with a strong contingent led by Indian Hockey Team Captain Harmanpreet Singh and Olympic bronze medallist boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who bore the Indian flag with pride. The Indian contingent comprises a total of 921 individuals, including 655 athletes, 260 coaches, and support staff. India holds the distinction of being one of the few nations that have participated in every edition of the Asian Games since its inception in 1951.
