Bokaro: A one-day workshop on School Health and Wellness was successfully conducted at the grand auditorium of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, as part of the ongoing Teacher Capacity Building Program. The session was led by the school’s Principal, Mr. Suraj Sharma, who emphasized the mantra “I am, I have, I can” as essential for both students and educators.
Focusing on the complex adolescent phase, Mr. Sharma highlighted the need for teachers to understand and address the physical, mental, and emotional changes that students undergo during this critical period. Through interactive case studies and live activities, he trained teachers to deal with adolescent issues skillfully and empathetically.
“Adolescence is the most sensitive stage of life,” he said. “If not guided well, it can impact a child’s future. Teachers must nurture self-belief in students by encouraging the mindset—I am capable, I have the strength, and I can succeed.”
The workshop also shed light on recent CBSE reforms in teacher training. Mr. Sharma explained that training will now cover three distinct domains, requiring teachers to complete 12, 24, and 14 hours respectively via offline or online modules.
The session was attended by Vice Principal Narmendra Kumar, Head Master Gopalchand Munshi, Executive HR Supriya Chaudhary, and the entire teaching staff. Educators found the workshop highly insightful and relevant to their evolving classroom roles.
