Bokaro: A contract worker died in an accident at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on Friday noon.
According to the eyewitnesses Surender Singh (30) died on the spot after he was accidently crushed by a Hydra near Coke Oven Battery No 8 at BSL. Surender was a contract worker of M/s NP Construction, working at BSL.
Expressing grief BMS Secretary Ashok Kumar, JJMS General Secretary BK Choudhary, KC Munda and Anil Kumar, and others demanded compensation and job to the next kin of the deceased.
A union spokesperson for JJMS claimed that BSL management is willing to offer compensation and a job to the family members of the deceased.
Meanwhile, BSL officials appealed from the entire plant worker to strictly obey the safety rules.
