Bokaro: ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm at Chandrapur Thermal Power Station (CTPS) a unit of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) on Thursday. The programme was organised at HR department of CTPS at Chandrapura guest house.
‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is the government’s initiative to mark 75 years of India’s Independence was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 March at Gujrat. The celebrations will continue till 15 August 2023.
This programme is a tribute by the people to the freedom fighters and freedom movement. Through this celebration the country will not only remember all the important milestones, important times during the freedom movement but also gain new energy for the development of the future, said PR official of CTPS.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Engineer and Project Head SN Dutta said, we have got freedom from our ancestors’ untiring efforts, to keep it untouched and to take full advantage of it; we have to walk under the guidance of great legends.
“We have to determine the future of the coming days so that we can strengthen the nation by intimidation,” he added.
He said that children are the future of the country; they will have to perform their duties vigorously to determine their future.
The other prominent speakers, including M Rangaswamy, Dilip Kumar, PK Jha, Anil Kumar Singh, Saryu Ravidas, Sunita Kumari, A Chandrasekhar, LK Bhagat, Ramon Josef were also addressed the function on the occasion.
Essay and debate competition was also organised on the occasion; students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, DVC and De Nobili School have participated in the competition.
Tanu Kumari, Himanshu Aggarwal, Neha Kumari won the first, second and third prizes in the essay competition respectively, while Shwetagi Sharma, Riya Raj, and Hansika Julie in the debate competition; were honored by DVC management.
Pradeep Srivastava conducted the ceremony and the vote of thanks was given by Akshay Kumar.
