Delhi Police issues notice to Jharkhand Congress State President for sharing ‘fake’ video of Amit Shah

Ranchi: The Delhi Police has issued a notice to Jharkhand Congress State President Rajesh Thakur in connection with the uploading and sharing of a fake video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech on social media.

According to the notice, Thakur has been asked to appear before the investigating officer of Delhi Police Special at 10:30 am on May 2.

He has also been directed to bring along his mobile phones, laptops, tablets, or any other electronic device that may have been allegedly used to share the fake video.

The notice has been sent to Rajesh Thakur under section 160/91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

Thakur, in response, stated that he received the notice from Delhi Police yesterday evening, requesting his laptop. He expressed the opinion that before issuing such notices, Delhi Police should gather complete information about all the facts.

“I am consulting with my legal advisors on the issue and looking forward to how we can seek relief in appearing before the Delhi Police on May 2, as I am currently engaged in election works,” Thakur added.
