DPS Bokaro shines in Junior Swimming Championship

Swimmers of DPS Bokaro helped the Bokaro District Swimming Team to win First Runners up Trophy in Under 17 Boys and Girls categories and maximum medals (29) in the 11th Junior State Swimming Inter-District Championship organized by the Jharkhand Swimming Association (JSA) at Khelgaon, Aquatic Stadium, Ranchi.

Of the total 27 members of Bokaro District Team, 24 are from DPS Bokaro. A total of 205 participants from 23 districts of the State participated in the mega event in which the swimmers of Bokaro district won 29 medals in various categories consisting of 4 Silver and 25 Bronze. DPS Bokaro was declared the first Runners-Up in Under 17 Boys and Girls categories.

In the individual boys event (under 17), Pratik Kumar of DPS, Bokaro gave the best performance and secured FIVE medals (two silver in 400 mts FreeStyle and 100 mts Butterfly along with three Bronze in others). In the individual girl’s event, Anubhuti Jha secured FOUR medals – One Silver in 100 mt Breast Stroke categories and Three Bronze in other categories.

In the individual boys event (under 11), Aranya Rohan won TWO medals – One silver in the 200 mts Freestyle along with One bronze in 100 mts Freestyle

The students of DPS Bokaro who also won Bronze medals (including U-14 & U-17 categories) are Sahil Shekhar(2), Travis Liu(1), Tanya Bhardwaj(3), Khushi Nandan(3), Priyashree Dubey (2), Shaili Priya (5), Archisman Choudhary(1), Ishan Alok (1).
