Gangwar, Mritunjay elected as President, Treasurer of BDSA

Bokaro: A S Gangwar, unanimously elected as the President of Bokaro District Swimming Association (BDSA).
Gangwar, along with other office-bearers of the BDSA, was elected for the tenure 2019-24 during a meeting held at DPS Bokaro, Sector IV, which was duly incorporated by Jharkhand Swimming Association (JSA) on Monday.
During the meeting, BDSA Secretary, Jaideep Sarkar, Treasurer, Mritunjay Sharma and Working Secretary cum Technical Advisor Rupesh Kumar, who was present for the meeting unanimously accepted Gangwar as the President of BDSA for next tenure.
The meeting also decided to conduct various activities in the coming years including training and coaching for the promotion of swimming amongst the school students.
The secretary Jaideep informed that ‘Water-Polo’ may be introduced which is said to be a niche area. “A team can be formed for representing the East Zone through BDSA,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion the newly elected President Gangwar said that attempt will be carried forward to introduce swimming coaching for the ‘Differently Abled Children’ as a social measure to promote fitness and health amongst them.
A selection trial for BDSA team is scheduled on 5 June at DPS Bokaro swimming pool, informed Mritunjay. “The selected candidates will participate in the 11th State Junior and Sub-Junior Swimming Competition to be held on 15 and 16 June in Mega Sports Complex Hotwar at Ranchi,” he added.
The players having the date of birth between the years 2002 to 2007 will only be considered to participate in Junior Boys and Girls while players born between the years 2008 to 2010 will be considered for Sub-Junior Boys and Girls respectively, he said.
