Indo-Russia Friendship motor rally flagged-off from Bokaro

india-russia-friendship-motor-rally-6Celebrating the 70 Years of diplomatic relations between India and Russia a friendship car rally today rushed at Bokaro Steel City. Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) is the biggest symbol of Indo-Russia Friendship which was built by the engineers and workers of both the countries.

The rally consists of 9 SUVs in which 35 pilots and co-pilots including 7 Russian and 2 Indian female members are travelling. The rally will cover 9000 kilometres in 23 days and conclude at India Gate in New Delhi on 14 March, informed Ellena a Russian SUV pilot of the rally.

“The motor rally (India leg) will cover Jamshedpur, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Chennai, Cuddalore, Neyveli, Kanyakumari, Bengaluru, Goa, Navi Mumbai, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, and New Delhi”, she added.

This rally is also aiming to promote trade through the International North South Transport Corridor (INSTC). This will promote the connectivity between India and Russia to boost trade and investments. The focus is to strengthen the existing friendship, cooperation in cultural spheres, tourism, science and research, said Ellena.

“We hope, India Russia Diplomatic Relations always moves forward in this fast Lane (INSTC)”, she added.

This rally is being organized by Kalinga Motor Sports Club (KMSC), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, under the aegis of Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, and The Embassy of The Russian Federation in India, said Sanjay Issar, a member of the rally.

“This rally is divided into two legs, India Leg and Russian Leg. India Leg will be concluded on 14 March after covering the distance of about nine thousand kilometres while the Russian leg scheduled to start on 29 April from Delhi and will be rushed at Saint Petersburg in Russia on 16 May after covering the distance of 5700 kms by road and 900 Nautical Miles by sea”, informed Sanjay.

BSL CEO PK Singh welcomed the travellers in the rally from Russia, India and Thailand. The rally was launched at Bhilai Steel Plant on 20 February which rushed at Bokaro via HEC Ranchi on Wednesday afternoon.

Expressing his good wishes for the nine thousand kilometre rally BSL CEO flagged-off the rally for Jamshedpur at Bokaro Niwas at 4.30 PM.
