Mitarlam: Many people are feared to be killed and injured after a car bomb explosion outside the administrative office in the Alishing district of eastern Laghman province in Afghanistan. Spokesperson Asadullah Daulatzai said, according to preliminary information given by the Afghan National Police (ANP), the blast occurred at around 5.50 am local time. The ANP is investigating the circumstances of the incident to find out more facts and share them with the media.
The explosion affected many people and damaged buildings, while security forces have cordoned off the area as a precaution. He said that the explosion engulfed the area with thick smoke over the spot in the district, which is north of the provincial capital Mehtarlam. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
