In a remarkable testament to the transformative power of education, Md. Ejazul Haque, the Acting Headmaster of Upgraded High School Diwankhana Chatra, stands as an embodiment of dedication, innovation, and community upliftment. With an unwavering commitment to catalyzing change, Haque’s contributions have earned him accolades, awards, and the respect of his peers and students alike.

On September 5, 2023, as the nation gears up to celebrate Teachers’ Day, Haque’s contributions have reached new heights. His commitment and tireless efforts have earned him a rare honour – being the only teacher from a government school in Jharkhand to be felicitated by the President of India.

Haque’s journey in the realm of education took an inspiring turn when he received the coveted District Level Award for Best Teacher in 2022. Recognizing his exceptional efforts, the award celebrated his remarkable influence in shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning. Not content with resting on his laurels, Haque embarked on a journey to further enhance educational resources and opportunities for his students.

As a vital member of the textbook and curriculum development committee entrusted with crafting English books and curricula for classes 1 to 8 across schools in Jharkhand, Haque played an instrumental role in reshaping the educational landscape. His tireless efforts bore testimony to his commitment to holistic learning experiences that transcend the confines of traditional education.

Haque’s influence reached national platforms when he was invited by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), under the aegis of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. He addressed the prestigious PM e-Vidya program, sharing his insights on enhancing foundational literacy and numeracy, a true testament to his impact on educational innovation.

His zeal for learning was further highlighted when he secured the first position in the state in an ICT course offered by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. This achievement led to his recognition as a prominent education leader, earning him an opportunity to share his expertise and experiences on a broader stage.

Beyond the classroom, Haque’s dedication to empowering marginalized communities shone brightly. He initiated night classes for underprivileged children from the weaker sections of society in the village of Gajwa, Pratappur Chatra. Recognizing the need for inclusive education, he undertook the monumental task of bringing education to those who were often left on the fringes.

Haque’s efforts transcended mere initiatives. He understood that education is the bridge that connects individuals to a brighter future, but many barriers stand in the way. Addressing issues like lack of awareness, illiteracy, and poverty, he embarked on a journey to integrate the socially disadvantaged into the mainstream. Through his persistence, children who were previously excluded due to bureaucratic requirements like Aadhaar and bank accounts found their place in the educational system.

With a heart dedicated to bridging gaps, Haque initiated the “Learning with Land ‘Meri Maati Meri Seekh'” campaign, recognizing the critical role of learning materials in a child’s educational journey. His actions echo his belief that no child should be denied access to education due to circumstances beyond their control.

This prestigious recognition shines a spotlight on his dedication to education and the profound impact he’s had on his students’ lives.

Md. Ejazul Haque’s story is a true inspiration, underscoring the transformative power of education and the unwavering dedication of educators who go above and beyond to create a brighter future for generations to come.
