JNS: ESL Steel Limited’, a Vedanta Group Company and ‘Samarth Community Forum’ signed an MoU to operate a ‘Multi Activity Center’ for the elderly in Bokaro district.
MoU was signed in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary between by CEO ESL, Head CSR ER & PR ESL and Director of Samarth under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) regarding the operation of Multi Activity Center (MAC) for the elderly.
DC, who was speaking on this occasion, remarked that the Multi Activity Center is proving to be a boon for the senior citizens. They will get proper care in a better environment. He asked the company representatives to make it assure that the MAC would run more smoothly for the second time as well in a bid to achieve its goal.
Notably, MAC has been operating in the district since 2022 at Rajendra Nagar, Chira Chas. It aims to create an environment conducive to better health, engagement with various activities and peace of mind for the elderly.
Along with occasional counselling sessions, ESL and Samarth will ensure that the elderly continue to take advantage of the many different health and care amenities available in the center as they have in the past, informed an official.
To get people involved in various activities, you should schedule readings, audio-visual facilities, and speeches and debate sessions led by specialists, he said.
In addition to this, the elderly will receive assistance with day-to-day technology, legal advice, and information regarding various programmes that are administered by the government to ensure that they are kept up to speed, said the official adding “it will also be connected to the plans for the rehabilitation of elderly who have been abandoned.”
Besides others, Superintendent of Police, SDO Chas Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Officer on Special Duty Vivek Suman, Disaster Management Officer Shakti Kumar and Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar were present on the occasion.
