This camp is being organized to facilitate the patients as NeuroGen understands patients with spinal cord injury, muscular dystrophy, Autism, Cerebral Palsy including other disorders, informed Dr Richa Bansod, Head of Surgical Services.
Traveling is extremely difficult all the way to Mumbai for just consultation purpose so this free camp is being organsied aiming to facilitate those patients, she said adding “all those patients suffering from such incurable neurological disorders can contact for appointments for this free camp to Mona 09920200400 or Pushkala 09821529653.”
She said, spinal Cord Injury affects the person’s functional independence and has a major impact on quality of life, sense of self worth and consequential social participation. Whilst it is generally expected that the degree of functional independence achievable is dependent on a person’s spinal cord injury level, a person’s neurological level should not be viewed as strictly predictive but rather as indicative of potential function.
“Spinal Cord injury occurs after road traffic accidents, railway accidents, falls from heights and sports injuries; affects 25 out of every 10 lakh people. The consequences of spinal cord injury, whether it is paraplegia or quadriplegia, are severe and crippling,” added Dr Richa.
