New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kanyakumari on a three-day trip starting May 30. According to sources, during his stay, Modi will visit the Rock Memorial and meditate at the Dhyan Mandapam, the same spot where Swami Vivekananda meditated.
The Rock Memorial holds significant historical importance, as it greatly influenced Swami Vivekananda’s life. It is believed that just as Sarnath holds a special place in the life of Gautam Buddha, this rock similarly impacts Vivekananda’s legacy. After traveling across India, Swami Vivekananda arrived at this rock, where he meditated for three days and envisioned a developed India.
Modi’s meditation at the same site underscores his commitment to realizing Swami Vivekananda’s vision of a developed India. This visit also highlights Kanyakumari’s geographical significance as the southernmost tip of India, where the Eastern and Western coastlines converge and the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and Arabian Sea meet.
Modi’s visit to Tamil Nadu, even after the elections, reflects his deep commitment and love for the state. Known for undertaking spiritual journeys at the end of election campaigns, the Prime Minister’s visit to Kanyakumari on May 30 follows his previous post-election visits to Kedarnath in 2019 and Shivaji’s Pratapgarh in 2014.
