Rats in Bihar drank up about 9 lakhs liters of alcohol seized by police from people flouting prohibition laws in the state. The Bihar police has claimed that rats drank up a large amount of alcohol which seized after banning liquor in the state.
Local media reported that seized bottles of liquor were missing from police stations godowns.

Notably, the Nitish Kumar government implemented a complete ban on alcohol in Bihar in 2016 April and to enforce the liquor ban, a special drive has been launched by the police and the excise department across the state. Media reports said that in the last 13 months, a whopping 9.15 lakh litres of alcohol, domestic as well Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), have been seized in Bihar following the ban.
