Lucknow: Amid growing controversy and allegations on social media regarding donation boxes at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a detailed probe into the matter.
The decision was taken by the Yogi Adityanath government following a request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which manages the Ram Temple. The SIT has been tasked with investigating allegations related to temple donations, claims circulating on social media, and other concerns that have sparked a political and public debate in recent days.
The move comes after opposition leaders raised questions over the handling of donation funds, while the Trust strongly rejected allegations of any irregularities and maintained that its financial processes are subject to regular audits and monitoring. Recent reports indicate that the controversy intensified after claims were made regarding the alleged misappropriation of donation money, prompting demands for an impartial inquiry.
