Traders analyses BJP will get a clear majority with seats closer to 300

After the sixth poll of the current elections, it is now almost certain that on May 23, the NDA alliance, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is expected to get an overwhelming majority and the next government will be formed in the country under the leadership of Modi.

This estimate has been made by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) after getting feedback from traders who have got further feedback from their respective customers which indicates that BJP will take around 300 seats, while the constituent parties of NDA will also take the seat between 45 and 50 seats.

This time, traders from across the country have not only voted for BJP and allies but have also launched a major support campaign on appeal of the CAIT for BJP and its allies. Not only the traders but their employees were also a part of this campaign. During the campaign traders also encourage their customers to vote for Modi. There are about 70 million businessmen in the country which employ around 30 million people and this time traders and their employees have voted across the country as a strong vote bank.

Based on this feedback, the BJP will get between 50 to 60 in UP, 22 to 25 in Maharashtra, 15 to 25 in West Bengal, 10 in Assam, 23 in Madhya Pradesh, 22 in Rajasthan, 23 in Gujarat, 4 in Punjab , 8 in Haryana, 7 in Delhi, 15 in Bihar, 6 in North East, 7 in Chhattisgarh, 14 in Odisha, 10 in Jharkhand, 4 in Tamil Nadu, 20 in Karnataka, 3 in Jammu and Kashmir, 3 in Himachal Pradesh, 3 in Kerala 6, 2 in Goa, 3 in Uttarakhand including more.

CAIT National President BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that after talking to traders and other people across the country, it has transpired that people of the Country did not appreciate negative campaigning of Rahul Gandhi.

Beginning with Chowkidar Chor Hai, Gandhi and other opposition leaders gave abusive words to Mr. Modi and attacked him personally instead of talking on issues. The opposition party failed to put the government in the dock for its tenure of last five years.

The sensitive issue like inflation was never raised by the opposition. Apart from personal criticism, no national issues were ever raised by Gandhi or other opposition leaders.

The announcement of giving concessions to the farmers by Gandhi has had adverse effects on other sections. The taxpayer class is angry with Gandhi’s announcement. They opined that we should contribute tax and Gandhi intends to give it like freebies which are not acceptable. The divided house of opposition and the other hand strong unity in NDA allies also played an important role.

At the same time under leadership of Modi, the BJP and its allies remained united. There was a perception among the common people that at present there is no substitute for Modi and if the dispute with Pakistan or any other nation has been more in the future, then no other leader than Modi will be able to give a fitting reply. Persistent violence in West Bengal has disillusioned people from Mamta Banerjee public opinion against him and their votes were converted in the favour of BJP.

On the other hand, on April 19th, by addressing the traders by Modi at the National Traders Conference held by CAIT, businessmen across the country got enthusiastic and all traders got mobilized in favor of the BJP.

Steps like the formation of a National Traders Welfare Board, pension to merchants over the age of 60 years, accident insurance of 10 lakh to businessmen registered in GST, national retail trade policy, merchant credit card etc. also influenced the traders to a great extent.

During the conversation with people across the country, it also came to light that Modi succeeded in making nationalism a major issue of elections, which was directly related to the hearts of the people. The government’s Ayushman Bharat Scheme and the Mudra Scheme created the BJP’s footprint among the small classes, while the programs like ‘Start-Up India’ and ‘Skill Development’ were attracted to the youth of the Country.

Personal attacks on Modi by Gandhi and other opposition leaders gained sympathy for Modi. The organisational structure of BJP was miles ahead than other parties. BJP cadre worked wholeheartedly throughout the country, whereas other parties did not have personal contact with voters, and focused only on rallies. It is also true that people were angry with the BJP candidates in many areas, but because of the intense campaign of Modi, the BJP got their vote and they were heard saying that we have given the vote to Modi.
