SHABD – A National Inter-School Knowledge Convergence, a two-day fest began at DPS, Bokaro on Monday; inaugurated by the Sanjay Prasad, the Principal District and Sessions Judge of district court Bokaro.
Our motto to share wisdom, amass knowledge, inculcate values and grow strong on the cultural roots that have been our country’s rich legacy through this fest, said a school authority.
“The fest consists of 6 intellectually challenging activities includes – Jaipal Singh Munda Memorial Multi-Format Debate in English, Nachiketa Quiz Contest, Sri Aurobindo Memorial Creative Writing in English, Bharat Ratna Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Visual Art Installation Competition, Bhaas Invitational and Experimental Short Play and Pandit Ram Vilas Sharma Memorial Open Class Meet,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Hemlata S Mohan the Director and Principal of the school elaborated upon the nomenclature of the enlisted events that remind us of some immortal personalities from the glorious Indian history.
On the significance of this convergence, she said the audience that this is a way to explore our history, culture and tradition and to relate the same with this modern contemporary world.
She stressed upon the fact that the coming generations need to be more empowered as well as more connected to the roots of our own unique cultural heritage and remembering our forgotten legends through such activities at school level is a small step to pay our tribute to them who offered their whole life for the welfare and benefit of others.
“The inspiration behind SHABD is the aspiration to empower and enrich young minds by rethinking History, rather reliving History meaningfully through a powerful parallel curriculum”, she remarked.
