Volvo Car India Crosses Milestone of 1,000 Electric Vehicle Deliveries

Kolkata: Volvo Car India announced on Wednesday, June 5, that it has delivered over 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs), marking a significant milestone in its EV journey. The company began this journey in November 2022 with the delivery of its first XC40 Recharge, which was also the first locally assembled luxury electric SUV in India.

Volvo Car India currently offers three EV models: the XC40 Recharge, the born electric C40 Recharge, and the single motor XC40 Recharge. These models are sold through the company’s Online Direct Sales model via the Volvo Car India website.

Additionally, all Volvo EV customers receive exclusive membership to the company’s ultimate luxury program, the ‘Tre Kronor Experience.’

Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, stated, “On the occasion of World Environment Day, we are happy to announce that Volvo Car India has delivered over 1,000 EVs. This achievement is another milestone on our journey towards becoming an all-electric company by 2030. Our robust progress reflects strong customer confidence in our cars and our commitment to growing the luxury EV market in India.”

Volvo Car India experienced a strong growth in 2023, with a 31 percent rise in overall sales compared to 2022. The pure electric models, XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge, accounted for 28 percent of total sales, according to company data.

Volvo Car India is dedicated to launching one electric vehicle each year, aiming to convert its entire portfolio to electric vehicles ahead of the 2030 target.
