Bokaro: The Bharti Sahitya Parishad, Bokaro, commemorated Tulsi Jayanti and hosted a Kavi Goshthi (poetry symposium) on Sunday at the Vihangam Yoga Institute in Sector 5. The event began with a ceremonial garlanding of Goswami Tulsidas’s portrait by chief guest, senior litterateur Buddhinath Jha, along with special guest Rajesh Gupta, patron Sukhnandan Singh ‘Saday’, general secretary Dr. Nar Narayan Tiwari, and the attending poets.
In his keynote address, Buddhinath Jha praised Tulsidas’s profound impact on the masses, highlighting how the poet-saint’s Ramcharitmanas has endeared Lord Ram to the hearts of many. “Tulsi Das Ji is not just a literary figure but the very essence of our cultural soul,” Jha remarked, concluding his speech with a recitation of the poem ‘Kitna Socha Tulsi Jaisa, Main Bhi Kuch Kar Jaata…’.
Special guest Rajesh Gupta emphasized Tulsidas’s role in steering societal direction through his literary contributions. Sukhnandan Singh ‘Sadya’ noted that Tulsidas’s works convey a message of societal harmony, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage. Dr. Nar Narayan Tiwari highlighted the poet-saint’s ability to intertwine depictions of nature with social issues and their resolutions in his epic, Ramcharitmanas, asserting that the devotional spirit instilled by Tulsidas will endure through time.
The symposium, guided by Dr. Parmeshwar Bharti, featured a diverse array of poets and poetesses who captivated the audience with their verses on devotion, patriotism, societal issues, politics, and human emotions. The poetry readings included performances by Jyotirmoy Dey Rana, Jyoti Verma, Dr. Shyam Sundar Prasad, Lalan Tiwari, Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Dr. Nar Narayan Tiwari, Sukh Nandan Singh, Omraj, Geeta Kumari Gustak, Brahmanand Goswami, Dr. Ram Narayan Singh, Arun Pathak, Luv Kumar, Manoj Nishant, Purnima Suman, Gangesh Kumar Pathak, Sunil Kumar, and Shashi Kant Tiwari, among others.
