‘Hard labour, sincerity can gives better heights’ : Dr Mohan

solo-song-winnersContinuing successfully with its Inter-house music gala competition, into the second day of the Cultural Week, the school witnessed melody, harmony and rhythm in the solo classical singing and orchestra cum folk music which mesmerised hundreds of students along with guests and were cheered repeatedly.

In the solo classical singing group competition, songs were taken from Sufi music and on various Ragas sang during different seasons offering platonic love signal to Lord Krishna. In the solo song competition, Naina Priyadarshini of Jamuna House bagged the First Prize followed by Akshita Pathak of Ganga House who got the Second Prize while Anushka Ganguli of Sutlej House bagged the Third Prize.

In the Orchestra Group Competition which was based on ‘Arabian Tunes’ Jhelum House bagged the First Position while Sutlej House and Ganga House got First runners-up and Second runners-up award respectively. In the Primary Wing Group Dance Competition based on ‘Folk Dance’, Ganga House got First ranking followed by Sutlej House which was declared Second and Raavi House along with Jhelum House were declared jointly Third.

Pandit Chetan Joshi, Bhaskar Ranjan Dey, G.N. Parmeshwaran, Abha Kumari Jha, Dr. Padmalaya Dash Choudhary and Aatreyee Bhattacharya were the judges for this competition. Addressing the participants and guests at the Primary Wing, Chief Guest Chinoo Kumar showered praise on the school for giving holistic quality education not only in the field of studies but also in music which was seen today.

Kumar said that DPS Bokaro was playing the instrumental role in all-round development of a child which is highly praiseworthy.

Speaking on the occasion, Director and Principal Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan showered her praise on all the participants including primary and senior wing for being brilliant in all the presentations and even complimented their teachers and mentors for exhibiting quality work but added that still there is always scope to excel to scale better heights which can come with hard labour and
sincerity.
