IT raids in RANCHI, BOKARO and KOLKATA

The Income Tax Department on Thursday surveyed residential and official premises at several locations in Ranchi, Bokaro and Kolkata of Orchid Hospital group. Sources in the IT department said that interrogation of several staffs, including some of the doctors working in the Hospital was being conducted.

“Different teams of Income Tax on Thursday searched Orchid Hospital in Ranchi involving IT teams from Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Patna,” said a senior IT official requesting anonymity. Search was also conducted at the residence of wholesaler Sanjay Pharmaceuticals in Ranchi.

As per information, Rajkumar Agrawal, Dr RC Jain, Rajesh Adukia and Manoj Darolia were being interrogated by the IT sleuths.

Joint Director Pranav Kumar Kole, Deputy Commissioner Ranjit Madhukar, Deputy Director (Investigation) Mayank Mishra were also present during the raid in the Hospital.

“Till late in the evening on Thursday, a total of Rs 10 lakh in cash, 10 bank lockers, 80 bank accounts, profit out of capital gains and proof of sale and purchase on plain papers have been recovered,” the official said.

The officials further informed that Agarwal, Jain and Adukia are promoters and partners in Orchid Hospital whereas Manoj Darolia is a supplier of medicine in the Hospital. Both Agrawal and Adukia are business partners who also have shops in the name of Akash Aluminium and Prakash Aluminium at Lalji Hirji Road and Swastik Aluminium in Bokaro, he added.

“Survey was also being conducted on their Aluminium shops in Ranchi and Bokaro,” the officials said. There is also a company named Park Avenue Fine Base Private Limited in the name of Agrawal where they might also have invested. A survey was also done on their Jora Bagan business establishment in Kolkata, he added.

The It sleuths of Hazaribagh and Bokaro also conducted raids on the Chas (Bokaro) based Aluminium Hardware Traders, supplier’s business firms— ‘Swastik Aluminium’ into a tax evasion matter.

The ten member teams of IT sleuths, simultaneously launched the search and seizure operations in the residential and business premises of Deepak Jain, owner of ‘Swastik Aluminium’ at Chas in connection with disproportionate assets and a tax evasion matter, IT officials informed.
