# DPS Bokaro holds ‘Phulwari’ Exhibition, Competition to awar students
Bokaro: In an effort to celebrate the beauty of the natural world and instill environmental responsibility among students, DPS Bokaro organized a plant exhibition and competition titled “Phulwari— Nurturing Nature” on Friday.
The exhibition featured an impressive array of over 2000 plant species, including seasonal flowers, medicinal plants, vegetables, fruits, decorative plants, non-flowering varieties, and bonsais. Students from both the Primary and Senior Wings enthusiastically participated, showcasing their deep appreciation for nature.
This event not only showcased the incredible diversity of the natural world but also emphasised the critical importance of environmental conservation. The serene atmosphere was enhanced by soothing music, creating a perfect backdrop for the exhibition.
The Chief Guest, General Manager (ECS) N. P. Srivastava, inaugurated the exhibition and expressed his delight at the students’ enthusiastic involvement. He commended DPS Bokaro for its commitment to environmental stewardship and holistic education. Mr. Srivastava encouraged students to become environmental advocates, actively contributing to the transformation of Bokaro into a Zero Waste City. He emphasised the proper disposal of wet and dry waste to create organic compost and urged everyone to work together in building a legacy of environmental responsibility for future generations.
Dr. A. S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro, explained that Phulwari aimed to sensitize students to their environmental responsibilities and promote a sustainable perspective. The exhibition was judged by a panel of teachers from the school, including Neelam Singh, Shalini Thakur, Nidhi Khare, Dr. Rima Gupta, Shweta Singh, and Sunil Kumar.
