‘Operation Sindoor Not Over’
New Delhi: In a decisive show of resolve, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level security meeting at his residence on Sunday, where he gave clear instructions on the continuation of Operation Sindoor, India’s military campaign against cross-border terrorism. Sources confirmed the Prime Minister’s firm directive: “Wahan se goli chalegi, yahan se gola chalega” — a sharp warning that India will respond with force to any act of aggression.
The meeting was attended by key defence and security leadership, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the three service chiefs — Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh.
Despite a ceasefire agreement reached on May 10 following talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, senior government sources told News18 that Operation Sindoor is ongoing and far from over. “This is the new normal,” the source added, “Pakistan and the world must come to terms with it. Business as usual is no longer acceptable.”
Foreign Secretary Vikram Mistri reinforced this stance, noting that India remains deeply concerned over repeated ceasefire violations and is maintaining heightened vigilance along the International Border and Line of Control. Any breach, he said, would be met with a strong response.
The Indian Air Force, in its first official statement since the operation began, confirmed that military actions continue with strategic precision. “The operation is still active and aligned with national security goals,” the IAF said in a statement. “A comprehensive briefing will be shared in due course. The public is requested not to speculate or circulate unverified information.”
In a related development, senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force are scheduled to address the media this evening at the National Media Centre in Delhi, where more insights into the ongoing military posture are expected.
Operation Sindoor marks a significant shift in India’s counter-terrorism doctrine, indicating a sustained and assertive policy of deterrence, regardless of diplomatic overtures or temporary ceasefires.
